Sundries

Got a late start at work today, thanks to a bout of insomnia. Then, it turned out to be one of those busy days I dislike so much. Ah, well.

I had to grant access to a system today, to a man whose username was 'PBLOOD'. I would probably have foregone my juvenile amusement at his expense, except his first name was also 'Pieter'. This perfect storm of low humor caught me off-guard.

Special Bonus Edition

So, I was driving home, and struck by my memory of this post on a comic-related blog I read. I was periodically exclaiming, to no one in particular : "Pants, HELL!" and then giggling. Because it's a terribly amusing phrase. And it really deserves to be a catchphrase.

Ahem.

In any case, I got through my extended giggle-fit and spied a driver behind me. There was a short, squat little man with a round face, and white hair, with sideburns. Why, says I, (prone as I am to structure sentences in archaic fashion) this is no man! Surely, this is Bilbo Baggins.

Seriously, the guy looked like a hobbit. Then I began to idly wonder if the Red Book of Westmarch was the owner's manual for a 2004 Subaru Impreza..

It was all downhill from there.
