Mixed-Up Movies

Before I get into the detailing of how awesome my vacation was, I must share an anecdote from this past weekend. I visited my parents, who were playing host to a young cousin of mine - a seven-year-old boy. I got to entertain him for a while, and we watched some movies he'd brought along. I hadn't seen Cars, so I was glad to watch that. Wasn't so thrilled about The Polar Express.

But amongst the movies watched were a couple of Winnie the Pooh straight-to-video schmaltzfests. I've never been a fan of Pooh, finding him a little bit boring even as a child. While watching these, though, something crept into my awareness.

Eeyore sounded familiar.

Meaning, his voice.

Now, as folks who know me will know, I'm pretty good about spotting voice actors, so it took but a moment to place the familiar tone. Eeyore is voiced by Peter Cullen, who also voices Optimus Prime.

Which sent my mind down this track :

"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings... I suppose. *sigh*"

So, can anyone spare a smackerel of Energon?

Off-topic, but have you seen Transformers yet?

Indeed. I did a rare thing, for me : I saw a movie on its premiere date - two weeks in a row. Transformers, and Harry Potter.

Did you like it? Did Michael Bay totally ruin it? Was there any watchability left?

B-. I'd say it's very watchable. There's a dash too much "dumb Michael Bay Action movie", but it doesn't ruin the overall effort.

Ok, I'll watch it. I am still disappointed by the inclusion of all the humans, though. :(
