Double Win

First, computer news. My computer has been repaired - new motherboard - and should ship out towards me today. I expect it'll arrive Monday. I am pleased.

Second, arriving this week were my new toys. Mattel produced some nifty things for San Diego Comic-Con, and after the show, the items were available for sale on their website, minus a couple of neat extras that were exclusive to the con.

Plastic Man - for the 6 inch DC Classics line, Plastic Man comes with interchangeable body parts so you can swap his legs for a coiled red spring, or his arm for a giant paddle ball, or even just add segments to stretch his neck. His con exclusive was a briefcase in his colors that you could attach his head an arms to. The niftiest thing about the figure, though, is the package. See, the package is designed to look as if it is Plastic Man himself taking on the shape of an action figure package. That's awesome. It also comes with wearable person-sized Plaz glasses.

Starro the Conqueror - A set of figures for the DC Infinite Heroes 3.75 inch line. A giant Starro and five founding Justice Leaguers. The con exclusive was a pack of Starro 'spores' for placing on the face of action figures. Again, though, the package is the big win. The figures are placed in shaped plastic so as to mimic the cover of Brave and the Bold #28, the first appearance of the Justice League and of Starro. And the package talks. You press a button, and it tells you about the comic. And one of the founding Leaguers at random. And in Kevin Conroy's voice.
