Picked up Guitar Hero late last week for the first time - Guitar Hero III, specifically. Botched my way through most of the tutorial, then just decided to try actual songs on Easy mode to see how things worked. Once I got the timing down, I did allright. Now, I'm at the point where I can play a song I've never played before, on Easy, and still 5-Star it.
(An aside : Tenacious D's 'The Metal' was a pain to play.)
I may be ready for Medium, but I'm not sure. I was pleased that they included a Cheats menu, and so I unlocked all the game content with a code right away. I love the characters you can play as, and even though I don't give a damn about what guitar I'm using, I was pleased by the Samurai-style one.
Though I doubt I'll ever 5-Star a song on Expert, it's a pleasant diversion. I was going to be slightly disappointed with the songlist, but then they appeased me with the Beastie Boys.
The downside, though, of playing standing up, is that my back is killing me. I must use the wrong posture or something.
