The air conditioning in my office is either off, or MEGA-ON. There is no happy medium. I've been bringing a jacket to work.

Power Supply did not fix the secondary symptoms, so I'm betting it didn't fix the primary system. Which points to the only possible remaining culprit, the Motherboard..

There are a thousand things on the mobo. Don't blame the board for something attached to it. What is this mystery symptom you speak of that you thought replacing the power supply would fix?

The main problem is periodic bluescreen errors. The secondary symptoms are additional beeps on bootup (that don't correspond to beep codes) and an inability for the computer to remain powered off if shut down via software. The more devices connected, the more beeps there are, up to a maximum of four, whereas stripping the PC of everything but memory, video card, hard drive, and a keyboard reduces it down to the one normal expected beep.

What BIOS (or equivalent) vendor? Might be something that can be fixed with a firmware update.

It sounds like a bus issue. Probably some key device trying to use a resource that exists but the low-level drivers don't know how to use. The power-on thing sounds familiar....

I can tell you the Motherboard is a MSI® X58 Pro-E. I'm not sure of the BIOS particulars off the top of my head.
