I use my window A/C unit - on fan mode - to generate white noise that helps me sleep. Unfortunately, there's an abnormal noise that it sometime produces - I think the fan is scraping against the edge of the styrofoam insulation that lines the interior, occasionally amping up the noise from 'pleasant' to 'nigh-unbearable'. Usually, the loud spells are brief, but for the last couple of nights, not so much.

Combination of sinuses and lack of sleep meant I was in no shape to work yesterday; slightly better today, but I'm definitely considering popping a ZZZQuil before bed tonight.

Also looking into white noise mp3 downloads I could loop on my computer.
